Another very effective mist eliminator is the horizontally mounted mist eliminator. The air must flow up through the mist eliminator for this style to work. These mist eliminators are typically mounted in overheads outboard of an air trunk which connects to the engine room. As in the face draining mist eliminator, no plumbing or additional drainage is needed. Gravity pulls the water out of the louvers and away from the mist eliminator.
